Should I Do a Preliminary Title Search?
Problems always seem less threatening when dealt with early in a transaction.  It is a great idea to check on your ownership and how it was recorded.  A simple request of a Property Profile can sometimes uncover mistakes that are easily solved with time on your side.

The Property Profile will show exactly how your ownership has been recorded.  Sometimes a spelling mistake will show up, or one of the original owners was never recorded, or the property lot description has a descrepancy.  If you took title with a Trust, make sure you have a copy of that part of the trust that deals with real estate.

This is the time to straighten out any issues concerning divorce or death.
