How Do I Open an Escrow?
In Nevada, it is prudent to open your escrow with a Title Company.  This means that you can have all closing activities handled by one company.  The Escrow Company is a disinterested third party to the Real Estate transaction, who will direct all closing activities.

Once you have a fully executed purchase contract and an earnest money deposit in hand, then you are ready to open an escrow account.  Title companies will only accept "fully executed" purchase contracts, which means sellers and buyers signatures on the offer and acceptance and any counter offers and addendums.  The earnest money is called a consideration.  Without consideration, you have no contract.

Bring your paperwork to the escrow agent you have chosen and you will be assigned an escrow number.  Anytime you need to contact your agent, always refer to your escrow number.
